Grand champion Asashoryu of Mongolia dispatched Dejima in quick order Wednesday to stay undefeated at the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament.
In the day's final bout at Ryogoku Kokugikan, Asashoryu dodged to his side at the faceoff and swatted the third-ranked maegashira down to improve to 4-0. Dejima remained winless.
Asashoryu, who is gunning for his 18th Emperor's Cup, is in a three-way tie for the lead with top maegashira Roho and rank-and-filer Homasho.
In other major bouts, Mongolian Hakuho won his third straight with a win over Tokitenku.
Ozeki Hakuho, who is bidding for promotion to grand champion, quickly got a grip on the belt of Tokitenku and hauled him down.
After losing on opening day, Hakuho has looked like the yokozuna candidate many expected him to be. He'll face Kokkai on Thursday.
Ozeki Tochiazuma finally picked up his first win of the tournament when he bulldozed Tamanoshima out.
Bulgarian Kotooshu was handed his first loss when Aminishiki came bursting out of the blocks and forced the ozeki wrestler out in a matter of seconds.
