To win the World Baseball Classic, Team Japan had to cross the Pacific Ocean and play in major league parks. Now the major leaguers are going to return the favor.
The postseason AEON All-Star Series, pitting MLB talent against a team of Nippon Professional Baseball All-Stars, was announced Tuesday at a Tokyo hotel, as officials from MLB Japan and NPB released the six-game event's schedule and announced a few of the players who would be involved.
"We're talking about some of the best baseball players in the world," MLB Japan Managing Director Jim Small said.
