Satoshi Nakayama salvaged a late point for Gamba Osaka as the defending J. League champion came from two goals down to draw 3-3 at Nagoya Grampus Eight on Sunday.
Nakayama came off the bench to equalize with an 89th-minute header, but the result left Gamba in second place on goal difference behind first-division leader Urawa, which won 2-1 at Gamba's neighbor Cerezo Osaka on Saturday.
In Sunday's other game, Koji Yamase scored twice and had a hand in the other two as Yokohama F. Marinos began the post-Okada era in emphatic fashion with a 4-0 win away to troubled Kyoto Purple Sanga.
