Kana Oyama scored a team-high 13 points to inspire Japan to a straight-sets victory Friday over powerhouse Cuba in their opening match of the women's volleyball World Grand Prix. Japan took control of the match from the outset against the Cubans and took the first set on its fifth set point when Sachiko Sugiyama got a block point on a Kenia Carcaces spike en route to a 29-27, 25-18, 25-17 win at Ariake Colosseum.
