Tournament debutant Kagoshima Kogyo set up a semifinal clash with the Tokyo school with a 3-2 win over Fukuchiyama Seibi from Kyoto later in the day in the final quarterfinal of the tournament at Koshien Stadium.
Two-time defending champion Komadai Tomakomai of Hokkaido faces Chiben Wakayama in the other semifinal on Saturday.
