FC Tokyo have sacked Brazilian Gallo and named Hisao Kuramata as new manager of the J. League first-division club, FC Tokyo officials said Tuesday.
The move comes at a time when FC Tokyo is 15 points adrift of league leaders Urawa Reds in 12th place in the 18-team top flight on 21 points from 17 matches played under Gallo, who took over at the start of the season as the club's first foreign manager.
Kuramata, 47, has served as assistant coach and coach for FC Tokyo's Under-18 team.
