Yu Funabashi and Yuki Saito hit back-to-back homers to key a four-run rally in the sixth inning Wednesday as Waseda Jitsugyo beat Fukui Shogyo 7-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the National High School Baseball Championship at Koshien Stadium.

Cleanup hitter Takashi Goto hit a game-tying triple before Funabashi launched a two-run shot to the right-center field stands and Saito followed with a solo drive over the center-field wall, giving the Tokyo school a 4-1 lead at Koshien Stadium.

Waseda Jitsugyo added three runs in the eighth on RBI singles by Hidemasa Shirakawa and Kojiro Higaki on its way to reaching the last eight of the annual tournament for the first time since 1982.
