Guzman to go

NAGOYA (Kyodo) Chunichi Dragons right-hander Domingo Guzman will be released at the end of the season, officials of the Central League club said Monday.

The 31-year-old Dominican applied the same day to be placed on waivers.

Guzman had a stint with the Yokohama BayStars before moving to the Dragons and posting 10 wins to help lead the club to the 2004 CL title.

Guzman, however, suffered injuries to his shoulder and elbow later on and finished last season with a record of just 1-2.
