Left fielder Yu Funabashi went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBIs and Yuki Saito struck out 12 in a complete-game six-hitter as Tokyo's Waseda Jitsugyo eliminated 2005 semifinalist Osaka Toin with an 11-2 rout in the second round of the National High School Baseball Championship on Saturday.

Funabashi helped Waseda Jitsugyo take a 5-0 lead with an RBI single and a three-run shot while Saito struck out at least one batter in every inning, held Osaka Toin to two runs.

Osaka Toin cleanup hitter Sho Nakata, who is drawing attention from professional scouts, went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the right-hander. Nakata homered in his team's first-round win over Yokohama.

In other action at Koshien Stadium, Akira Nakamura and Yuta Shiozawa hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning as Tokyo's Teikyo scored eight runs in the final two innings to beat Josuikan of Hiroshima 10-2.

The solo shots from Nakamura and Shiozawa gave Teikyo a 4-2 lead and the school tied a tourney record with four homers in a single game, including a Tatsuya Amamori two-run drive in a five-run ninth.

Cleanup hitter Tesshin Sameshima singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh as Koshien debutant Kagoshima Kogyo edged Kochi Shogyo 3-2.

Masashi Haruna and Toyoaki Kinoshima had RBIs in the sixth as Kagawa Nishi beat Niigata's Nihon Bunri 2-1.
