Kosuke Fukudome drove in the tiebreaking run with a clutch single in the seventh inning and the first-place Chunichi Dragons rallied for a 5-2 win over the Hanshin Tigers in the Central League on Wednesday.
With the victory, Chunichi moved a season-high 19 games above .500 and 3 1/2 games ahead of the second-place Tigers in the Central League standings, inching a step closer to clinching its first league title in two years.
Hanshin took a 1-0 lead on Osamu Hamanaka's drive with two outs in the first inning before Alex Ochoa singled up the middle to tie the game at 1-1 at Nagoya Dome.
