Veteran Japanese archer Hiroshi Yamamoto, silver medalist at the Athens Olympics, has been ranked No. 1 in the world, All Japan Archery Federation officials said Thursday.
The International Archery Federation has placed Yamamoto top of the rankings since June 11 after the 43-year-old finished runnerup to South Korea's Park Kyung Mo in a World Cup meet in Turkey earlier in the month.
