JEF United Chiba said Sunday that assistant coach Amar Osim has taken over from his father Ivica Osim as manager of the J.League first-division club.

The move comes at a time when Ivica Osim is set to sign a deal with the Japan Football Association to become national coach after serving as Chiba manager since the beginning of the 2003 season.

Amar Osim, 38, became Chiba's assistant coach in 2004 after coaching spells in his native Bosnia and Herzegovina.
