Chunichi now has two five-game winning streaks this season.

At Osaka's Kyocera Dome, lefty Tsuyoshi Wada pitched a four-hit shutout and Naoyuki Omura went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, helping power Softbank over Orix.

Wada (8-4) struck out six with no walks in his second shutout of the season to set the pace in a 13-hit attack for Softbank, which won its second straight without manager Sadaharu Oh. Masato Yoshii (6-6) was charged with three runs in seven innings in taking the loss.

At Tokyo Dome, Saburo Omura hit a three-run homer to break a 1-1 tie and Shingo Ono allowed two earned runs in 5 1/3 innings as Chiba Lotte sent Hokkaido Nippon Ham to its third straight defeat.
