TOKOROZAWA, Saitama Pref. -- The bj-league's Saitama Broncos announced Kenji Yamane as their new head coach on Monday.
The 38-year-old Yamane is a former point guard with the Tokorozawa Broncos, the predecessor of the current club. "We want to establish a team that can run, and we want to continue that style throughout the year," he said at a news conference at Tokorozawa Municipal Office.
Team president and general manager Toshihiko Narita said the Broncos, who finished in last place during the bj-league's inaugural campaign with a record of 7-33, said two more Americans will join former NBA forward David Benoit as the club's foreign power.
"I can't tell you the names right now, but we are under negotiations with some big men, including ones that are about 2.10-meters tall," Narita said.
