Japan fell to its second big defeat in a week in a 56-6 drubbing by Italy in a rugby test match on Sunday.
The Italians outplayed the host in every facet, scoring seven tries on a rain-soaked day at Prince Chichibu Memorial Ground in Tokyo.
Japan opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a penalty goal from Wataru Ikeda but was overwhelmed by its opponent's speed and tight-knit defense.
Ikeda chipped in with another penalty in the 48th minute but it was little consolation as Italy had already scored another four tries through Josh Sole, David Bortolussi, Dennis Dallan and Mirco Bergamasco.
