MUNICH -- Birthday boy Miroslav Klose scored twice as Germany beat Costa Rica 4-2 in a record-breaking World Cup curtain raiser in Munich on Friday.
The six-goal haul represents the most goals in the opening match of a finals, ahead of the five scored in France's 4-1 win over Mexico in the first-ever tournament in 1930.
