Sanfrecce Hiroshima has named Mihailo Petrovic as manager of the struggling J. League first-division side, club officials said Wednesday.

The appointment of Petrovic, 48, who coached Austrian club Sturm Graz in the 2005-06 season, came more than a month after Takeshi Ono stepped down in April after his side made a sluggish start to the J. League season.

Sanfrecce is currently in 15th place in the 18-team J. League top flight, with 10 points from 12 matches. Goalkeeper coach Kazuyori Mochizuki has served as caretaker manager after Ono's resignation.
