Defending world MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi will remain with Yamaha for the 2007 season, the Japanese manufacturer announced Thursday.
"We are extremely happy that Valentino has chosen to continue his illustrious MotoGP career with Yamaha in 2007," the company said on its Web site.
Rossi joined Yamaha just over two years ago. The Italian won the championship with Yamaha in 2004 and again in 2005 but has struggled this season with only one win so far.
Rossi will be looking for his second win of the season at his home Grand Prix at Mugello, Italy on Sunday.
