The Chiba Lotte Marines said Sunday they have acquired the services of 28-year-old right-hander Justin Miller.
Miller, who posted nine wins with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2002 and has compiled a 12-9 record in the major leagues, is expected to be used in middle relief.
This year, Miller began the season with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization.
