Kameda took control of the non-title 10-rounder in the first round and prompted the referee to stop the fight 1 minute, 28 seconds into the second after knocking his opponent down to the canvas earlier in the round at Ariake Colosseum.

Kameda, ranked fourth by both the WBA and the WBC, improved his record to 11-0, including 10 knockouts.

"I feel great. You know I always say I can topple anyone if I fight like I normally do," the popular 19-year-old from Osaka said with a grin. "Fajardo was patient, though, because he wouldn't fall even though I landed lots of good punches in the first round."

Kameda was aggressive from the opening bell against the southpaw and landed a series of effective body blows in the first round.

He floored Fajardo with a hard left 48 seconds into the second round and after the Nicaraguan got up on the count of four, pinned him on the ropes with a barrage of fierce lefts and rights before the referee ended the bout.

On the undercard, Daiki Kameda, Koki Kameda's elder brother, beat Kittipop Saendeegym of Thailand with a knockout at 1:31 in the first round in a bantamweight 8-rounder and improved his career record to 3-0 with two knockouts.
