In-form Tadahito Iguchi hit his third homer of the season and extended his hitting streak to seven games in the Chicago White Sox's 5-4 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Friday.

Iguchi connected off Scott Elarton for a seventh-inning leadoff shot to right-center that tied the game at 1-1 at U.S. Cellular Field as the second baseman went 1-for-3 to leave his average at .321.

"It was the first time in a while that I've hit a ball hard in that direction and I didn't think it would go over the fence the moment I hit it," Iguchi said of his homer. "He (Elarton) didn't have enough velocity with his fastball and that helped me hit it this hard but it was good hitting, indeed."
