The Yomiuri Giants said Tuesday they have reached an agreement to acquire for 21-year-old left-handed prospect Wu Meng from the Beijing Tigers in the Chinese Baseball League.
Yomiuri established a friendship accord with the Beijing Tigers in October 2003 and sent coaches on a scouting tour for players in June last year.
The Giants already have contracts with infielders An Xiu and Cui Xiao. Wu, who has a sidearm fastball and curve ball in his arsenal, will arrive in Japan on Wednesday.
