Hiroki Kuroda pitched a three-hit shutout and Tomonori Maeda homered and drove in three runs as the Hiroshima Carp trounced the Central League-leading Yomiuri Giants 7-0 on Thursday.

Kuroda (2-1) carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, retiring the first 20 batters he faced before allowing a two-out double to Takanori Hoshi at Hiroshima Stadium. The ace right-hander struck out three and walked none.

Maeda opened the scoring with a two-run homer in a three-run second inning and added an RBI single in a four-run third.
