Olympic gold medalists Kosuke Kitajima and Ai Shibata both lost for the second time in three days while Tomomi Morita set a Japanese record for the second straight day at the national swimming championships Saturday.
Kitajima finished runnerup to Hiromasa Sakimoto in the men's 50-meter breaststroke and had his streak of winning five titles in the discipline snapped. Sakimoto clocked 28.27 seconds, edging Kitajima by 0.03 at Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center.
