The Lions sent 12 batters to the plate in their second-inning outburst and had five hits and three walks while capitalizing on a two-out error by Rakuten shortstop Yoshinori Okihara at Iwate prefectural stadium.
Toru Hosokawa opened the scoring with a two-run, bases-loaded double with two outs before Okihara's error and an RBI single by Hiroyuki Nakajima helped Seibu increase the lead to 5-0.
