Kei Igawa pitched a five-hitter and struck out 10 in his first complete-game shutout of the season as the Hanshin Tigers blanked the Hiroshima Carp 7-0 in the Central League on Friday.

Igawa (2-1) did not allow a runner past second and got run support from the Hanshin offense, highlighted by consecutive first-inning RBI hits by Tomoaki Kanemoto, Makoto Imaoka and Osamu Imanaka as well as an Andy Sheets three-run homer in the fourth.

Igawa walked three and hit a batter with a pitch. The lefty reached 1,000 career strikeouts in winning his second straight start.
