Hiroyuki Nakajima scored Takumi Kuriyama, who led off the game with a single, on a sacrifice fly to center, and Cabrera followed with a run-scoring double to right to make it 2-0 in the top of the first inning at Sapporo Dome.

Cabrera, who went 2-for-3 with a walk, added a two-out RBI single in the third, and Wada padded the lead with his bases-loaded double in the fifth before Nippon Ham mounted a short-lived rally.
