Softbank Hawks manager Sadaharu Oh, who led Japan to the inaugural World Baseball Classic title last month, denied Friday he has received an official offer to manage Japan's Olympic team for the 2008 Beijing Games.

"Before speaking about whether to turn it down or not, I don't think I've got an official offer," Oh said when asked about a Yomiuri Shimbun report that he turned down an offer for the job for the Olympic team.

Oh, however, didn't make a clear-cut answer to a question whether he has been asked outside official channels to steer the national team for the Beijing Olympics.
