Japan will field the team of Go Soeda, Goichi Motomura, Satoshi Iwabuchi and Toshihide Matsui for its upcoming matchup with Thailand in the second round of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania zone, the Japan Tennis Association said Tuesday.
Japan crushed China 5-0 with the same lineup in the first round in Osaka last month, and the winner of the April 7-9 matches in Bangkok will book a place in a World Group promotion/relegation playoff. Japan has a 5-1 record against Thailand in the Davis Cup.
