Point guard Doron Perkins scored 19 points and Charles O'Bannon followed with 18 to lead the Toyota Alvark to their second Super League title with a 77-66 win over the OSG Phoenix in Game 4 of the playoff final Saturday.
Toyota came back from a 17-14 deficit after the first quarter to take a 38-29 lead at halftime and went on to take the best-of-five series 3-1 for its first title in four years in the top flight of the men's Japan Basketball League.
Perkins, who also had six assists and 11 rebounds in Saturday's game at Yoyogi national gymnasium annex, was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2005-2006 season.
Earlier, Toyota finished the regular season in first place with a 21-5 record while OSG came second at 16-10 and advanced to the four-team playoffs. OSG won the opener of the final against Toyota, only to see its bid for a first title dashed after losing three straight.
