Tomokazu Ohka picked up his first win of the spring as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Texas Rangers 10-5 in an exhibition game Wednesday.

Ohka allowed four runs -- two unearned -- and seven hits in five innings with seven strikeouts and no walks, leaving the mound with a 6-4 lead. The right-hander is 1-2 with a 6.60 ERA in the preseason.

At Surprise, Arizona, Seattle Mariners catcher Kenji Jojima went 1-for-3 in a 4-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals.

Jojima doubled down the right-field line in the eighth inning after he flied out to right and grounded out to second.

At Tampa, Florida, Hideki Matsui drew two walks and flied out to third in his three plate appearances as the New York Yankees edged the Boston Red Sox 5-4.

"I've been able to hit the ball at the right point. I just missed that one," Matsui said of the flyout. "I can also see pitches very well, strikes or balls."

Elsewhere, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder So Taguchi came in as a defensive replacement and struck out in his only at-bat in a 9-3 win over the Washington Nationals.
