Lee Seung Yeop went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs Wednesday in his first exhibition appearance for the Yomiuri Giants since his heroic hitting efforts for South Korea at the World Baseball Classic.

Lee, who hit five homers in the WBC, doubled to right in the fourth inning and singled home two runs in the fifth -- both off Yakult Swallows left-hander Masanori Ishikawa. Yomiuri won the game at Jingu Stadium 6-2.

New Yomiuri acquisition Shigeki Noguchi allowed two runs and seven hits in five innings, while Ishikawa gave up four runs and eight hits in six innings.

Chunichi right-hander Kenichi Nakata allowed two runs and three hits in six-plus strong innings in Komaki, Aichi Prefecture, and Yoshinori Ueda, battling for a spot in the Dragons outfield, had his third straight multihit game with a homer and a single.

Yokohama rookie southpaw Kazuya Takamiya improved his chances of winning a place in the rotation after holding Hanshin to two hits and a walk in four shutout innings at Yokohama Stadium. Norihiro Akahoshi hit a go-ahead two-run single for Hanshin.
