Iguchi, who had been hitless in 17 plate appearances in his previous six games, batted sixth in the lineup and hit into a double-play to first and flied out to center in his other at-bats.
"I just tried to hit to the right side of the field," Iguchi said of his double. "I'm relieved that I finally got a base hit and I felt anew that I should stick with my usual batting mechanics without tinkering with it."
At Port St. Lucie, Fla., So Taguchi went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles to right and a walk while scoring three runs on a day when he signed a new one-year contract with the St. Louis Cardinals.
