Kameda, fourth in the WBA rankings, struggled early on but sent Bouchan to the canvas with a series of lefts and rights to his body and ended the scheduled non-title 10-rounder at Ryogoku Kokugikan 2 minutes, 20 seconds into the sixth round.

The victory over the boxer ranked 13th by the WBC kept Kameda's perfect record intact at 10-0, including nine knockouts.

"I thought I could knock him out by the end of the fifth round and I wish I could've finished him off one round earlier. He put up a good fight and I feel like praising him for holding out that long," said the 19-year-old from Osaka.

Wednesday's match was arranged after Kameda stopped former WBA minimumweight champion Noel Arambulet with a seventh-round technical knockout last November at Saitama Super Arena.

Kameda has said his goal is to become a world champion before he turns 20 on Nov. 17 this year.
