New York Mets infielder Kazuo Matsui got his first hits of the spring Tuesday as he went 2-for-5 and drove in two runs in a 7-1 exhibition win over the Houston Astros.

Matsui, who played second base and batted leadoff, lined a single up the middle in the first inning for his first hit in 14 plate appearances and added a two-run triple to deep center with two on in the fourth.

"I felt good when I swung the bat," said Matsui, who has been working on some mechanical changes in his swing since the start of spring training. "I still need to work out some more stuff in my mechanics to give consistency to my batting performance."
