Tsuyoshi Shinjo hit his second homer of the spring with a seventh-inning solo shot and Keizo Kawashima added a two-run triple in the Nippon Ham Fighters' 4-1 win over the Orix Buffaloes in an exhibition game Tuesday.

Right-hander Tom Davey held Nippon Ham to two hits in four shutout innings at Skymark Stadium in his first start since joining Orix from the Hiroshima Carp. Cliff Brumbaugh homered for Orix but veteran sluggers Kazuhiro Kiyohara and Norihiro Nakamura both went 0-for-2 and remained hitless this spring.

Katsuhiko Miyaji tied the game with a two-run pinch-hit single in the seventh and Tatsuya Ide hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the eighth as Softbank rallied to beat Yakult at Yahoo Dome.

Daniel Carrasco, who joined Softbank from the Kansas City Royals in the offseason, allowed seven hits but limited Yakult to one run in five innings. Yakult starter Masanori Ishikawa allowed only a double in four shutout innings.

Tigers 4, Eagles 0

Shinjiro Hiyama hit his third homer of the spring with a three-run drive and Hanshin right-hander Yuya Ando scattered five hits in four shutout innings at Koshien Stadium. Rakuten starter Hideki Asai held the Tigers scoreless and struck out five in five innings.

Dragons 6, Marines 0

Domingo Guzman, Luis Martinez and Masafumi Hirai all pitched three scoreless innings for Chunichi and combined on a three-hitter at Chiba Marine Stadium. Keiji Kamata homered and Masahiko Morino had a two-run single for the Dragons.

BayStars 1, Giants 1 (9)

Lefty Hisanori Takahashi allowed just two hits and no walks in five shutout innings in a duel with Yuji Yoshimi, who held Yomiuri scoreless in six innings giving up two hits in Yamaguchi. Yuki Yoshimura homered for Yokohama.
