Hidetoshi Nakata spared Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi's blushes with an injury-time equalizer as Japan drew 2-2 with Bosnia-Herzegovina in a warmup match in Germany for this summer's World Cup on Tuesday.

News photoJapan striker Naohiro Takahara scores in the 45th minute of an international friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Dortmund, Germany.

Naohiro Takahara headed Japan into a first-half lead in freezing conditions in Dortmund but Zvejzdan Misimovic leveled from the penalty spot and Emir Spahic pounced on a glaring error from Japan keeper Kawaguchi to prod home what appeared to be the winner in the 67th minute.

However, deep into stoppage time, Bolton Wanderers midfielder Nakata came to the rescue when he stooped to head home a cross from Shunsuke Nakamura.
