Hanshin Tigers outfielder Shane Spencer has sustained an ankle injury and is expected to miss the regular season opener of the Central League champion, Hanshin officials said Tuesday.
Spencer slipped when he got out of a car last Saturday, heavily spraining his right ankle. He has been told by doctors that he needs about six weeks before he can return to action.
