Japan coach Zico on Thursday named Bolton Wanderers midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata and Celtic playmaker Shunsuke Nakamura to a full-strength squad for the Asian champions' upcoming friendly with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Messina striker Atsushi Yanagisawa, who is set to return to Kashima Antlers on loan from the Italian Serie A side, was also named among eight European-based players in the 24-man squad for the Feb. 28 friendly in Germany.
However, there was no place in the squad for World Cup hopefuls Seiichiro Maki (JEF United Chiba), Makoto Hasebe (Urawa Reds) and Hisato Sato (Sanfrecce Hiroshima).
