Japan midfielder Shinji Ono returned to Japan from the Netherlands on Monday to rejoin J. League first-division club Urawa Reds.
Ono, who has signed a provisional contract with the club he left in the summer of 2001 to join Feyenoord, will tie up a deal with the Reds after a physical and is set to join the squad on Jan. 28.
Ono, 26, who played in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, helped Feyenoord win the UEFA Cup in his first season with the Dutch first-division outfit.
But his career has been plagued by injuries.
