Chinese-born table tennis players Saki Kanazawa and Kaii Yoshida won the singles titles at the national championships Sunday, while teenage star Ai Fukuhara was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Kanazawa edged An Konishi 11-8, 10-12, 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 5-11, 11-6 at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
In the men's final, Yoshida beat four-time champion Koji Matsushita 2-11, 14-12, 11-9, 9-11, 11-5, 11-5 to win the national title.
