Tickets allotted for Japan's matches in the 2006 World Cup soccer finals in Germany will go on sale beginning Sunday, the Japan Football Association said Friday.

About 6,400 tickets will be allotted for Japan's three matches in the preliminary round, and about 11,700 tickets, which will only be valid if Japan advances, will be sold for each match after the first round of the knockout stage.

The tickets will go on sale via a special Web site operated by the JFA at 10 a.m. Sunday and through application by postcard to designated travel companies.
