J. League first-division club Kashima Antlers have received an offer for Japan striker Takayuki Suzuki from former European champion Red Star Belgrade, Kashima officials said Tuesday.
"First we want to know what Suzuki wants to do in order to set the direction of this matter.
It has to be a full transfer deal if we allow him to move," a ranking Kashima official said.
Suzuki has played 55 times for Japan, scoring 11 goals.
The 29-year-old had loan spells at Belgian sides Genk and Heusden-Zolder after showing impressive skills at the 2002 World Cup finals cohosted by Japan and South Korea.
