Akira Takigawa scored in the second half of extra time to give Yasu a 2-1 victory over reigning champions Kagoshima Jitsugyo in the national high school soccer championship final Monday.
Takigawa netted a shot in the 107th minute at Tokyo's National Stadium, getting an assist from Shingo Nakagawa.
The Shiga Prefecture high school won the national tournament in its second appearance.
The game went to extra time as Kagoshima made it 1-1 in the 79th minute on a header by Ryosuke Sakoda after Yasu opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.
