Fujitsu Red Wave came from behind to beat Chanson V-Magic 51-49 in the women's final to claim its first title at the basketball national championships on Sunday.
Ai Mitani had 15 points and Ryoko Yano added 12 at Yoyogi National Gymnasium Annex to lead Fujitsu, which mounted a late charge with a 3-pointer onslaught after trailing 31-26 at the break.
It was Fujitsu's first championship victory since being established in 1985. Chanson got off to a strong start in the first half but dropped off the pace in the final two quarters before giving up the lead.
Mutsuko Nagata had a game-high 21 points and 14 rebounds for Chanson.
