Japan Football Association technical director Kozo Tashima confirmed Friday that Japan will face Saudi Arabia in an away match on March 1 in the preliminary round of the 2007 Asian Cup tournament.
Japan notified the Asian Football Confederation and Saudi Arabia's football association of their intention to play the match on the day designated by FIFA, soccer's world governing body, for international friendlies.
