Mongolian grand champion Asashoryu received yet another honor Thursday when he was awarded the Order of Sukhbaatar in his homeland for making sumo history.

Asashoryu, who became the first wrestler to win a record seventh straight tournament in the ancient Japanese sport last month, paid a courtesy call on Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar and received the honor named after the leader of the people's revolution.

"I'm proud of being Mongolian," Asashoryu said in a meeting with Enkhbayar, who replied that he believes the 25-year-old yokozuna will continue breaking sumo records.
