Japanese pitcher Shinji Mori has drawn at least one bid under the so-called posting system, which would give him a chance to pursue a career in the major leagues, baseball sources said Tuesday.

No details were disclosed, including the team that offered the highest amount to acquire the services of Mori, who was named the best setup man in Japan's Pacific League in both 2002 and 2003.

The Seibu Lions put up the 31-year-old right-hander for auction late last month through the posting system, in which major league teams present sealed bids for Japanese players and the successful bidder obtains the negotiating rights.
