Japanese star golfer Ai Miyazato has decided to skip the season-ending Japan LPGA Tour Championship, the JLPGA said Monday.
Miyazato has opted out of the Nov. 24-27 tournament at Miyazaki Country Club and will focus on the final qualifier for next season's U.S. LPGA tour getting underway on Nov. 30 in Florida.
The current money rankings leader had apparently planned to sit out the last of the three remaining tournaments.
Miyazato has received an invite to play on the Japanese men's tour at the Asia Japan Okinawa Open from Dec. 15.
