Japan striker Yoshito Okubo is relishing a return to international duty against Latvia and Ukraine and knows he must seize his "last chance" to impress coach Zico and force his way into a place at next year's World Cup finals.

The Real Mallorca marksman looks set to get his first taste of action for Japan since coming on as a substitute in last December's 3-0 defeat at home to Germany when Japan takes on Latvia in Riga on Saturday in the first match of its mini European tour.

Okubo has yet to score in 17 appearances for the Asian champion and is way down the pecking order behind the likes of Messina's Atsushi Yanagisawa, Hamburg SV striker Naohiro Takahara and in-form Gamba Osaka forward Masashi Oguro.

The Athens Olympian is set to start on the bench at Skonto Stadium and admits that he has to start delivering results to stand any chance of getting a seat reserved on the plane to Germany.
